Short Wedding Dresses?

Short Wedding DressHere’s an interesting trend in wedding dresses.  Evidently it’s the reinvention of a trend from the 1950’s!  I found an interesting post over at Gownella, they have more pictures over there.

They look pretty cute, but definitely not traditional.  You probably need to have some nice legs and a nice figure to go with them.  This cute dress is from Carmela Sutera.

What do you think of the short wedding dress?  Is it for you?

I post a similar entry on my blog earlier this week about Priscilla of Boston’s dresses. I personally don’t like the short dresses.

Thanks for the comment Sarah! I checked out your blog. Your off to a great start! If fact I had to include your post “Post Secret” as one of my Top 5 this week.

Hope you come back to Our Wedding Plus often!

I actually took a long Lee-Anne Belter dress with a train and cut it to tea length a la Grace Kelly. I love the look especially since I have an outdoor location and I don’t have to worry about dragging my dress around. Plus, it is so light weight!

Hi Kelly!

Thanks for the comment. Sounds beautiful and original!

Love your blog too! Are you going to A Soolip Wedding this year? I might see you there!

Check back often,
Rhonda

I’m definitely planning on getting a short wedding dress in future. I’m only five feet tall and generally look smaller and rounder in long dresses. I love everything vintage and I think a short dress, much like this, can really give short girls a nice shape and actually elongate the figure. It would look amazing with an antique hair accessory.

I love the short dresses, I came across your listing while looking for a dress. Since we planned on getting married in the summer, and since we are doing a very small (parents, siblings and best friends only) wedding at Niagara Falls (also old fashioned but they are well priced, it’s beautiful and close to home) a tea length dress was just for me!
