Do I have any fellow Sex & The City movie fans out there? I feel I must pass this very important “wedding shoe news” along to all of you (yes, even on Sunday morning). Does anyone remember the blue satin Manolo Blahnik’s (played a very big role) that our beloved Carrie ended up wearing during the civil wedding ceremony with Mr. Big?

Well, while searching on the subject of wedding shoe trends (on a blog post soon to come) I happened to come across a post on Here Comes the Guide about some hot new wedding shoes from Perfect Details a wedding accessory boutique. And there they were a wedding shoe inspired by the glass-slipper style Manolo Blahnik Something Blue satin pump and they are available in ivory too!!

By the way the picture of Carrie and Mr. Big came from the Sex and the City book available at Amazon which has hundreds of full color images from the moview and behind the scenes.
 
I was so excited about my find that I just had to share immediately. I think deep down all us girls have a desire for glamour and high fashion at least sometimes but especially on our wedding day.

Okay ladies I would like to pass on an easy way to get that beautiful, healthy, shiny, hair that we would all like to have on our wedding day; and it doesn’t require a trip to the salon. According to Dr Oz (you know, Oprah’s friend) chlorine and other minerals present in water can cause your skin and hair to become dry and dull. To prevent dry hair from hard water, you can use a shower filter. This is something you can start way in advance before the big day.

I did some research on shower filters and found there are several well known shower filter brands and companies out there that produce good, decent products. But the shower filter that sounds the best is the Aquasana , and according to the experts on one website, dollar for dollar, there is none better than Aquasana. This shower filter has been voted “Best Buy” by Consumer Digest magazine five years running now.

Well, I have my team of experts on the job testing shower filters (none other than my sister, girlfriends and hair stylists) I will give you an update on their results in the near future. If I have any other guinea pigs out there I would love to hear from you too.

Oh, a few more suggestions from Dr. Oz, only shampoo when your hair is dirty – not every day. And if you have to wash several times a week only use conditioner and limit shampoo to only once a week. And protect it from the sun, remember he says the sun actually fries the hair.

One thing I know for certain is EVERY bride wants to look beautiful on her wedding day! It doesn’t matter what hair style and accessories you choose there is no substitute for healthy hair.

Well, I am back from St. Louis, and I had a wonderful time! It is truly an enchanting city. And let me just say love is certainly in the air in St. Louis. As a matter of fact this was one place I didn’t have to go looking for weddings; I was bumping into them all over town. But I am getting ahead of myself, let me just back up and start from the beginning.

We stayed at the lovely Crowne Plaza located in the heart of downtown St. Louis. The hotel was beautiful, the service was impeccable, and the view (the Mississippi River and the Gateway Arch) from our room was amazing. This picture was sunrise from our room. The feature I loved most was the Atrium Lobby lounge if you are planning an event. I think this is a perfect place for guests to gather for any occasion. We met our friends here and ended up spending the afternoon, it has such a comfortable atmosphere.

Then we set out to explore the riverfront (tons of restaurants and nightlife) while walking through the park we came across a bride and groom having their wedding photos taken. The scenery was absolutely beautiful and so was the bride. These magnificent trees provided the back drop and the fallen autumn leaves were at her feet. It was the perfect location for fall wedding photos. But the next location I was about to discover was even more surprising.

Kiener Plaza, turns out to be overwhelmingly popular for wedding photos, so much so, that the wedding parties were literally lined up. I was surrounded by weddings! It was wonderful! I found a seat on a park bench and just soaked it all in. Each wedding party had its own style, of course, so I got the chance to see an array of bridal gowns, hair styles, and shoes, I could go on and on. I spoke with a photographer (in line) and she told me every Saturday from May through October there is a steady flow of weddings coming to the plaza for photos.

Now that you know where to get your wedding photos taken you need to find a place for your reception.  There are several first class hotels right near the riverfront and Keiner Plaza including the Crowne Plaza, the Hyatt, the Hilton and others.  You can also check out the list over at mywedding.com.
