Bachelorette Party Trends

What are your bachelorette party plans?  I-Volution, Inc conducted a study recently on the most popular trends in bachelor parties and bachelorette parties. They found that due to increasing fear of a recession, there has been a trend for more bachelor and bachelorette parties to be held at home and more economical than previous years.

So here’s what they found as the most popular trends this year:

Bachelorette Parties:
- Attending musicals/plays
- Instructional exotic / pole dancing lessons
- In-home exotic male entertainer
- Spa day
- Dinner and drinks out

Bachelor Parties:
- Bar hopping
- In-home female dancers
- Golf weekends
- Paintball
- Attending a concert/sporting events

These actually sound a lot like what we have been doing for years, except maybe the “instructional exotic / pole dancing lessons.”

What are your bachelorette party plans?

Oh, and you might want to let your friends know what kind of party to expect!

Nervous about that Wedding Speech?

Wedding Speech

Don’t worry you are not alone.  You may have heard that the #1 fear of most people is public speaking while fear of death is #5!

Here are five tips to help you out with your wedding speech:

1.        Don’t drink too much!  You may think this will help calm the nerves.  Which it may, but maybe a little too much.  Most likely this will result in a more embarrassing situation for you and the bride and groom.  Then you will wake up in the morning feeling like an idiot!

2.       Don’t read your wedding speech word for word.  This looks stiff and impersonal.  See the next tip for more!

3.       Don’t try to memorize your wedding speech word for word.  This will put a lot of pressure on you.  If you mess up one word it can throw the rest of your speech off.  Try jotting down an outline and being a little spontaneous.  It will come off much better with the audience.

4.       Try to mingle with the crowd a little.   Meet people you don’t know yet. This may make you feel a little more comfortable with your audience.

5.       Be confident that what you are going to say sounds good!  Practice. Try your wedding speech out on a loved one.

Not feeling too inspired?  There are free websites that can get you started with things to say like ChargeYourGlasses.com.  They give you some unique phrases to include throughout your speech.

Good luck!

Unique Disposable Camera Idea

Disposable CamerasYou’ve all seen disposable cameras on the tables at weddings.  Did you ever wonder what happens to all those pictures taken by all the guests?  For most guests they never get to see those pictures.  Sure, the disposable cameras can be great for the bride and groom, but in many cases those great pictures captured by their guests wind up in shoe boxes and are forgotten about.

Well, here’s a unique idea.  ITheeSnap.com provides premium quality disposable cameras.  After the pictures are taken, you ship the cameras back to them.  They scan and upload the photos onto a secure web photo album that all your guests can visit to view, download, print, and comment on the photos.  They also provide the couple a DVD with all the photos as well as 4X6 prints!

Sounds like a pretty good service!

How to throw a Royal Wedding

In case you missed it, yesterday, November 20th was Queen Elizabeth’s 60th wedding anniversary!

To mark their anniversary, this past Monday the Queen and her husband Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, attended a service at Westminster Abbey where they got married. Also at the service were 30 family members and 2000 guests! Then yesterday, on their anniversary, they traveled to Malta where they lived as a young couple from 1949 – 1951.

So, how do you throw a royal wedding? I can’t give you all the answers but the Queen released 60 facts about her wedding that might give you a few ideas. If not, I still found them to be interesting reading!

Enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday!
