Bachelorette Party Trends

What are your bachelorette party plans?  I-Volution, Inc conducted a study recently on the most popular trends in bachelor parties and bachelorette parties. They found that due to increasing fear of a recession, there has been a trend for more bachelor and bachelorette parties to be held at home and more economical than previous years.

So here’s what they found as the most popular trends this year:

Bachelorette Parties:
- Attending musicals/plays
- Instructional exotic / pole dancing lessons
- In-home exotic male entertainer
- Spa day
- Dinner and drinks out

Bachelor Parties:
- Bar hopping
- In-home female dancers
- Golf weekends
- Paintball
- Attending a concert/sporting events

These actually sound a lot like what we have been doing for years, except maybe the “instructional exotic / pole dancing lessons.”

What are your bachelorette party plans?

Oh, and you might want to let your friends know what kind of party to expect!

I’m surprised that “out of home” female dancers are not on the bachelor party list? Maybe that is counted under “bar hopping”. Either way, good post idea. My girlfriends and I went away for a weekend in Miami together to celebrate my wedding–it was the perfect way to spend quality girl-time before my big day!

Hi Brittany!

In spite of what I-Volution said about the trend for parties being held at the house, I’ve been hearing alot about “destination” bachelor (ette) parties. Sounds like a fun time!

BTW, I like your blog! Looks like you had a beautiful wedding!

Hope you check back in often, even though your wedding is behind you.

Thanks for the comment!

I went to a bachelorette party last weekend, and we went to a psychic! Totally something I’d never do normally, but it was so fun to talk about all the predictions and stuff afterwards :o P

For my bachelorette party we’re going to gay bingo! Hahaha Again… not normally my cup of tea, but for this purpose, it ought to be a blast. It’s dead celebrity night :)

Hi Melanie! Wow, a psychic is different! Hopefully he had good predictions for the bride!

Did you say “gay” bingo? Now that is different! Or, did you mean “play” bingo?

I love your wedding website. Very original!

Best wishes!

I am planning the shower & Stag party for my friends wedding. We are doing an all girl lingerie party for the shower and then a co-ed guys vs. girls paintball for the stag, followed by kareoke at a local bar. The bride wanted to have the wedding party really get to know each other before the wedding and a co-ed party sounds like the perfect way.
